a. Jeff … TCPC sponsorship Juried Exhibition with Humane Society update

for 8 Nov. at the Civic Center in support of the local Humane Society. Work is in progress on all event details; to include name, judges, prospectus, PR, etc. A group of 5 members are currently working out an event timeline. Additional volunteers will be needed after we get some of the initial details worked out and we get closer to the event. … Florida Camera Club Council [F3C] award announcement. Digital Camera for Beginners Workshop discussion.

b. Kay … Reporting on the May 4th field trip to the Refuge House, Jensen Beach.
Kay will pass out a sheet for people to sign if they are interested. Examples offered.

c. Anjula … TCPC webpage updates … LIVE DEMO

TCPC May Field Trip

TRIP:             House of Refuge at Gilbert's Bar


LOCATION:     301 SE MacArthur Blvd., Stuart


DATE & TIME: Saturday, May 4
                             Sunrise is at approx. 6:47 am
                             Arrive no later than 6:30 am to set-up.



DIRECTIONS: Go over Jensen Beach Causeway
                           Take A1A NE Ocean Blvd. (3.4 miles)
                           Make a left on NE MacArthur Blvd. (1.6 miles)
                           House of Refuge is on the left.

COST: Free

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The House of Refuge is a historic building located on the beach. We will be photographing the sunrise, rock formations, and the House of Refuge. Parking is limited and I would suggest meeting-up and car-pooling with someone. There will be no official meet-up/car pool for this
field trip.

There will be a sign-up sheet at the May meeting. I would like an idea of how many people will be on this field trip so that I can arrange for breakfast at Jan's in Jensen Beach.
 If you can not attend the meeting on Wednesday but would like to come to the field trip/breakfast please send me an email and I will include you on the list.

Exhibition, *The Eye of The Camera*, May 16 through June 12th, 2013.

$25 Fee per entry, work must be *delivered between **10am – 3pm, Wednesday
through Saturday and Sunday noon to 3pm, April 24 – May 11, 2013*

InFocus Juried Exhibition

The Palm Beach Photographic Centre proudly announces its *17th Annual
INFOCUS Juried Exhibition*, which will take place in our beautiful museum
space in our new facility in downtown West Palm Beach. The INFOCUS
exhibition will also be showcased in our website.

The exhibition is open to photographers world wide, both amateur and
professional. Palm Beach Photographic Centre invites photographers working
in all mediums and styles to participate. Experimental and mixed techniques
are welcome. Those photographers wishing to exhibit, who are not currently
INFOCUS members, must join by indicating their membership level on the
entry form.

Exhibition Dates: June 19 - August 17, 2013

*DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES*

Entries for the INFOCUS Juried Exhibition must be *submitted no later than *
*April 19, 2013**.* A maximum of five images may be entered.

FEES

There is a non-refundable entry fee of $20 PER image submitted. A maximum
of five images may be entered. Please make sure to include your membership
fee if you aren’t a member, or if your membership has expired. Your
membership must be active through August 17, 2013.

AWARDS

Best of Show: $950 Cash Award

Two Merit Awards: FREE Tuition for a FOTOfusion Passport or a Master
Workshop of your choice.

A Photographer's View

Hobe Sound, FL April 20, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Start your journey learning how to create interesting and creative images with this first in a series class that focuses on identifying basic elements. The class is lead by photographers Bruce Bain and Durga Garcia. Bruce Bain, the curator for the Jonathan Dickinson State Park Art Gallery, teaches and presents at various locations in the Palm Beaches. Bruce's photos have won awards domestically and internationally for Best of Show, Best of Category and Honorable Mention in numerous galleries including the Lighthouse Art Center, Dennis Dean Gallery, WPGA, and the Artist's Haven Gallery. Durga Garcia, a well-known portrait photographer, has also earned numerous domestic and international awards and presents at various European seminars.

A Photographer's View begins with a presentation of elements that inspire great images. The class continues with a guided walk and photo shoot in Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Earth Day activities will provide subject matter for this class. Images from the photo shoot will then be presented and critiqued giving participants the benefit and experience of professional and peer reviews.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc., a community-based, non-profit organization. The Friends organization promotes the historical, educational, and ecological enhancement of Jonathan Dickinson State Park and is directly responsible for funding many park improvements.

The four-hour program is $35 per person and includes park entry, class instruction, an outdoor photo shoot, and light breakfast and refreshments.
